Home EconDev MenuAbout Cloquet
Cloquet, a small city of 12,568 residents is proud of its excellent school district and diverse business community, which employs many people and provides goods and services to local, regional, national and international markets. These businesses value Cloquet's proximity to one of the great commercial centers of the upper Midwest, its competitive business climate, and its access to transportation that connects them to markets and suppliers all over the world. Most of all, they value the people of Cloquet, people whose small town values include a strong work ethic, a belief in education, and a faith in the future of their community. We are committed to maintaining a positive business climate and fully cooperate with the business community to encourage quality economic development and greater employment opportunities in the City. The City is home to a number of major employers including, Sappi Fine Paper, USG, and Upper Lakes Foods.

"As a lifelong resident of Cloquet, a business owner, and a parent of children in the Cloquet School District, I am deeply invested in this community. My wife and I have owned and operated Up North Insurance Agency on Highway 33 since 2014. Through years of volunteering and community involvement, I've seen firsthand what makes Cloquet such a special place to live and work. I am truly thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as President of the Cloquet Economic Development Authority and to help move our community forward," Cloquet EDA President Aaron Peterson, Owner Up North Insurance.
